Wayland brings Calibur3 electron beam printer to Formnext without bed-wide pre-sintering
Wayland Additive will show its Calibur3 metal printer and the NeuBeam electron beam process at Formnext 2026 in Frankfurt, from 17 to 20 November. The company aims at parts where difficult alloys, complex shapes or heavy finishing work have so far argued against additive manufacturing. NeuBeam is an electron beam powder bed fusion process that, according to the headline, works without sintering the whole powder bed first.
Context Electron beam powder bed fusion (E-PBF) melts metal powder layer by layer with an electron beam in a vacuum chamber, instead of with a laser.
