OSSTEC raises $8m to prepare its printed cementless knee implant for US surgery
Medical device company OSSTEC has closed an $8 million financing round to prepare the clinical launch of ASCENT, a cementless knee implant system, in the United States. First procedures on patients are planned for the first half of 2027. The system relies on an additively manufactured anchoring structure meant to create a lasting bond between implant and bone.
Context A cementless implant is held in place by bone growing into its surface rather than by bone cement, which is why the printed surface structure matters.
