Melotte connects its quality data with amsight
Melotte, an industrial AM specialist serving aerospace, defence and semiconductors, uses amsight to link material, machine, printing, post-processing and inspection evidence. Weekly manual data collection and Excel import fell from three hours to 20 minutes. Searching documentation for root causes, previously about four hours, now often takes under 30 minutes. In one case, linking CT results with build data from a dual-laser printer traced defects to a single laser, which was then fixed.
Hybrid machine, contract manufacturers and construction
HORKOS CORP and Meltio introduced the NX70 DUO version AM, a twin-head machining center based on the NX70 1510B that combines cutting with Meltio W-LMD wire deposition. One unit has already been sold in Japan via partner MadeHere. In the US, Advanced Manufacturing Partners will build a prototyping facility in Austin, Texas, with LPBF, machining, heat treatment and inspection, and says customers keep their intellectual property. Evology Manufacturing bought an EOS M 400-4 with four 400 W lasers and a 400 x 400 x 400 mm build volume, taking its EOS fleet to 10 systems, driven by space customers backlogging its M 290 machines. LUYTEN 3D's PLATYPUS X4 SE mobile construction printer, with a print envelope up to 6 m high and 14 m wide, arrived in Long Beach for Concretta Homes.
