AM PravaH 3.0 adds whole-part distortion and residual stress simulation for metal AM

Published 1 sourceSummary written with AIDeutsche Version

Paanduv Applications has released version 3.0 of its AM PravaH simulation software for metal additive manufacturing. Besides melt pool and microstructure modelling, a new part-scale module covers temperature histories, deformation and residual stresses of whole components. The release also adds tools for wire arc directed energy deposition (WAAM) and for defining scan strategies in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF).

Context Part-scale simulation predicts how heat build-up during printing deforms a whole component and leaves residual stress in it, as opposed to modelling only the small melt pool.
