Singapore partner delivers 600 ceramic AM lift pin sets to a chip foundry

Singapore-based Creatz3D has supplied 600 sets of alumina lift pins, made by ceramic additive manufacturing, to a leading global semiconductor foundry. The parts passed full production qualification for chemical vapor deposition chambers, where they hold and position silicon wafers under high temperature, plasma and vacuum. According to the companies, the full cycle from printing to post-processing took six weeks, compared with months through conventional sourcing, which helps the foundry reduce overseas supply dependence. The parts use top-down stereolithography from 3DCERAM SINTO, which the company says avoids peeling forces and needs no supports. The case shows how ceramic AM is moving from prototypes into qualified production, a step that remains the main barrier for the technology in semiconductor manufacturing. Lithoz reports a similar partner-based model.

Lithoz adds 4K upgrade to CeraFab S65 for dark ceramics and finer detail

Lithoz will present a Performance Pack for its CeraFab System S65 and S65 Medical ceramic printers at Formnext. The add-on is based on a 4K projection system and is aimed at raising the light intensity and resolution of the lithography-based ceramic process. According to the report, resolution rises from 40 µm to 25 µm, and light intensity roughly doubles. The company says this makes dark ceramics, which are harder to cure with light, easier to process. The Performance Pack will be shown live at the Lithoz booth in Hall 11.0, Stand B50. Lithoz also plans several application demonstrations, including 116 aluminium nitride cooling plates on one CeraFab S320 platform, a turbine blade casting core built with German Access e.V., hydroxyapatite spinal cages developed with Spherene, and rocket engine segments made with Leap71. For ceramic additive manufacturing users, the upgrade targets finer features and a wider material range without a new machine.
